I would like to have more knowledge...

Postby buffi » Wed May 11, 2005 7:50 pm

Not only in general - especially about the DASH 8Q... I know the fanda Dash since a few days, I am fascinated and I would like to know much more about it. Systems, how to fly and so on. Where can I find those informations in the big world of Internet? I have allready searched for it, but did not find so much. Can you help?
Kind regards

For off, welcome to the forums.

To fly the fanda Dash check out the documentation that comes with it. There is a good first flight explained in there. I warn you though it will take a number of trys to make it all work. Give it a good go and then be sure to come back and ask lots of questions. Since we have had to start a new forum service here all the old questions and answers from the new pilots are lost. Being able to start answering new question will help build the stuff back up again.

First of all though, please, please, please, read all the documentation.

Hi Dan,
thank You for your response. I have already read all the documentation, including the explanation of the systems. It could be much more... and I will go for holidays within ten days. There I would have time to read in order to be better prepared when the new Dash will be published. I think, after all I have heard, it will be better to be a little prepared for it...
Kind regards

Hi Daniel,

thanks a lot. I will buy the Pro-Version. And I hope of 1000 pages... But three weeks without anything to read about it, that will be hard!
Kind regards

Hey Hans, you may want to check this out.
http://www.esscoaircraft.com/category_s/2.htm

They sell a Dash 8 flight manual for a fair price.

Hi Dan,

thank you. Yes, there is a manual. It is for the Dash 8-F. Is that the same as Dash 8Q? I tried to find out the differences, but I could not read anything about it...
Kind regards

I actually phoned that company. The \"F\" is an error.

Hi Dan,

you are very kind. Thank you for this. I just mailed some questions to esscowest about the content, further costs and so on. I would like to buy it, if it is what I expect.

Again, thank you very much!
Kind regards

Bought it

Postby vegarduy » Wed Nov 30, 2005 10:00 pm

I just bought it.

It seems to be a 100-manual, but I guess most systems are the same. Its pretty old, and the original pre-EFIS instrumentation is featured, as well as the EFIS of course. No info on FMC. Some pages of really crappy quality, even have pilot's notes included in the margins! I don't care as long as it's readable... This is however not a AOM/POH - it's called a \"Dash8 Pilot Training Publication\". It's about 1000 pages, so there's enough new information in there for most of us. And the price as delivered to Norway was about USD 78.
