I have disabled registration until we find a way to stop the porn posts.

Dan,

Thanks, I suggested to Oley that we try using a Captcha plug-in.
http://recaptcha.net/plugins/phpbb/ for more info. Even if it means having users enter a captcha before posting a new thread.

Regards

Hopefully this will minimize the porn and viagra postings that were in abundance. I'll try to keep an open eye for the unwanted intruders when possible.

Hello guys! You locked me out in the process of your battle against porn and I never even got to take my shirt off, (O: but, thankfully, I'm back now.
I can imagine how aggravating the problem must be though. I hope you can get it filtered out.
I use Gmail and they have a great spam filter integrated with their email service. I never get any spam at all in my "Inbox", but if I look into my spam folder, I could find all of the enhancement aids I could never want.
The point that I'm making is that there must be an effective way or program to filter this unwanted stuff out, because Gmail does it now.
